RAVEN Check Conversion

The Raven ARC check conversion application allows you to convert batches of paper checks to electronic check files.

Submitting electronic information to the bank rather than depositing paper items results in lower costs, greater security, faster payment and fewer returns.

The Raven check conversion module integrates seamlessly with the TellerScan (TS) 350 check scanner for efficient capture, transmission and settlement of check transactions.

The TS 350 will accept up to 80 checks at one time with no limit to batch size.  The scanner will capture a precise image of the front and back of each check.  It will also capture the MICR-encoded bank number, bank account number and check serial number encoded on the bottom edge of each item, allowing you to create payment files containing as many checks as you require.

The RAVEN user interface shows the operator a clear image of each check as it is captured by the system. Amounts can be verified for greater accuracy, and further information, such as address, telephone number and spouse name can be keyed by the operator should these details be required.

Benefits of RAVEN Check Conversion

There are many benefits to converting paper checks to electronic images: Some of the most compelling advantages are:

 >

Speed of handling - It is much faster, not only to batch the checks using our scanner, but also to transport them.  Using Raven check conversion software, you will be able to capture up to 60 checks per minute and deposit batches of checks in seconds – without shipping, without going to the bank, and without standing in line.

 >

Reduced transport costsTransmitting files of check information eliminates the need to ship paper documents to their destination.  Save money on Brinks and courier charges.

 >

Accuracy - As each check is scanned, an image appears on the screen with the value enlarged for easy viewing. You can verify an amount and keep a running total. Mistakes, if they happen, are easy to correct without starting again.

 >

Robust Reporting Capabilities – Speedier transmission, payment and reporting means faster reconciliation at your offices.  If a check is dishonored, you will receive immediate notification instead of waiting 7 to 10 days for the return of paper items.

 >

Speed of payment - It is a little known fact that electronic information is given higher priority by banks than paper documents. If two checks, drawn on the same bank account are presented simultaneously for payment, but one is electronic and one is paper, the electronic check will be paid first. Submitting check images via Raven will not only speed payment, but it will reduce the number of NSF checks you receive as well.

 >

Security – Paper checks are non-replaceable documents.  If they are lost, stolen or destroyed, they are often impossible to recover, so the fewer people who need to handle the checks the better.   With Check conversion, you can destroy the paper and keep copies of the images as backup instead.

 >

Reduced Collection Costs - With Raven, you may electronically represent each check that is returned for reason of insufficient funds, greatly reducing the number of unpaid items and the cost of collection.

 >

Improved Customer Service - You can easily access the check information should customer queries arise. Instantly quote the check number, amount and payment date to customers, or send them a clear copy of the item for their reference.
